Assured Self Storage’s owner needed rapid turn-around design for a new 95,000 SF three-story facility. First, we coordinated all site plan and Design Review Board approval with city administration staff. We prepared and gained approval for a Special Use Permit through the Board of Adjustment to allow for a caretaker residence within the building. We hit the mark, and completed design and permitting within the very tight window of 15 months!
Our work with the Design Review Board also made a meaningful use of a 1.2-acre parcel that sat vacant for decades. Our creative solution allows this three-story building to meet the 30-foot zoning height limit. While the tower element was approved at a greater height, we kept the rest of the facility within the limit using a low-slope standing seam metal roof.
